Divers often have a need, or want, to effectively communicate underwater. The SDI Full Face Mask Course is the perfect starting point. Full face mask diving allows the diver to relax and enjoy diving while not worrying about maintaining the second stage regulator. In addition, the full face mask will help insulate the diver from a cold water environment.
This course will introduce you to the pros and cons of Full Face Mask (FFM) diving, introduce new techniques to dive safely with a FFM and discuss the many options available.
Full Face Mask Diver is a 3-hour course of class room instruction right here at Diver’s World followed by a written test.
We will introduce you to the FFM skills in a 2-hour pool session.
You will then demonstrate your new skills by executing a two open water dives (see training dives tab). As always, you can count on the staff of Diver’s World to make your learning experience interesting and fun!
Your class fee will cover the costs of class, SDI training materials, your Instructors and Dive Master.
Student Provides
Students will need to provide all of their own equipment for training dives. Diver’s World has rental tanks, regs, BCDs and wetsuits if you do not own these items. You must have a Surface Marker Buoy (SMB) and finger spool.
At this point in your diving experience you may want to consider investing in a dive computer if you don’t already own one.
Students will be responsible for any charter fees for open water dives.
As part of your certification, you will complete a minimum of two open water dives from including dive plans.
You will need to provide your own transportation, rental equipment, environmental suit, charter fees and accommodations. Rental equipment is available through Diver’s World. Many of our local dives are within a couple of hours drive (or right here in our own Lake Erie or Presque Isle Bay) and classmates frequently arrange for travel together.
