If you see yourself as predominantly a local diver exploring the wrecks of the Great Lakes; drift diving in the Niagara River or the Thousand Islands; or jumping into every quarry, lake, or reservoir you can find, then we have a suggested path of scuba skills development to help you achieve your goals. Let our experienced team of local diving experts guide your through some of the best training available so you can become a confident, skillful, and knowledgeable local diver.
Take the three recommended courses below and then choose one other from your area of interest.
What’s in it for you?
- An opportunity to experience and learn in depth from several SDI specialties
- Targeted learning tailored to your type of diving
- Continued diver education, skills, and knowledge
- Enroll in any four of the following courses and get a package discount from Diver’s World
RECOMMENDED COURSES
These three courses are strongly recommended for any serious Great Lakes diver. With a Nitrox Diver certification you will extend your bottom times and get much more overall dive time during your excursions. Boat diving is prevalent throughout the Great Lakes region and most other diving destinations and this course helps you navigate some of the finer points of diving from a boat. Many of the wrecks in the Great Lakes are beyond 60 ft. in depth and you will learn about redundancies and safety in the Deep Diver specialty.
OPTIONAL COURSES
Additionally, choose any of the courses below to further enhance your skills and knowledge. While all of these courses are enjoyable, there are some we would recommend over others depending on your destination. For example, if wreck diving is your thing, we would definitely recommend the Wreck Diving course. If you are headed up to the St. Lawrence Seaway, you might consider the Drift Diver course.
