Diver’s World is the leader in the tri-state area in Scuba Education and Equipment Sales.  We would like to invite you to take the plunge into the underwater world with us. We offer all levels of diver training from Scuba Diver to Advanced Scuba Diver, Master Diver, Rescue Diver, Dive Master, Assistant Instructor, NAUI Scuba Instructor and many Specialty Courses. Whether you have always been interested in the sport or planning that dream trip, let our staff help you to begin your adventure. With over 100 years of combined experience, our instructors are dedicated to providing a great learning experience in and out of the water. We have chosen and teach the NAUI standards of scuba education as we find NAUI’s focus on Safety through Education to be consistent with our commitment to safety and quality. You will find our instructors have a great passion for teaching this exciting sport to the highest standards.

 

Our on-site classroom is outfitted with modern teaching aids and we strive to make the educational experience fun for all. Our sales floor offers a full array of top quality swim, surf, scuba, snorkeling, triathlon, and travel gear, and underwater cameras for all levels.

before you decide. Scuba diving is fun and exciting but does require a minimum standard of training with current equipment to ensure your safety. We promise that you will get a quality education that is  very competitive…. never cheap!

NAUI Training Progression

NAUI Scuba Diver

This is it! Your entry ticket to underwater adventure. This entry level course is designed to teach the basic skills, equipment needs, safety concerns, physics, physiology and everything else that you need to know to become a happy, competent scuba diver.  Pre-requisites: minimum age 12, in good health and able to swim.

NAUI Advanced Diver

Your next step after Scuba Diver to improve upon your skills, try different types of diving and have more FUN. After a brief classroom session, pick from the dive schedule and come do a boat, night, navigation, S&R, deeper, current dive and more.

NITROX Diver

Who ever said that air was the perfect breathing mix for divers? It was until Nitrox was developed! Diver’s World is the only store in the tri-state area where you can purchase Nitrox. Enriched Air Nitrox is simply air that is enriched with oxygen, it provides an additional margin of safety at certain depths and extends your bottom time. Learn all about diving Nitrox, how to pick the best mix for your dive, safety concerns and more. The course is taught with the NAUI power point system to make learning easy and fun.

NAUI Rescue Diver

The rescue specialty is a great benefit to yourself and your diving buddy – you never know when you will apply the skills learned in the course.  Learn how to manage risks and effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies, how to assist and transport divers, and how to perform surface rescues and rescues from depth involving both boat and shore based skin and scuba divers. CPR and First Aid certifications are required to complete this course (both are also available at Diver’s World). Your Scuba Rescue Diver training moves you on your pathway to becoming a NAUI Leader.

NAUI Master Scuba Diver

A great course for those who wish to increase their understanding and enjoyment of diving. You will then proudly carry the most coveted and respected certification card in recreational diving – that of the NAUI Master Scuba Diver. The Master Diver course will use the NAUI Master Diver Education System which includes a textbook, workbook, DVD, and CD’s.

Deep Specialty

Interested in what lurks in the depths?  The Deep Specialty will train you for diving to depths beyond 60 feet.  You’ll learn about using redundant equipment, dive procedures, physiology and safety issues and to safely explore deeper than you have been before.

PASST Underwater Archaeology Survey 1

This NAUI Certified course is designed to educate Advanced divers on the knowledge and skills required to conduct an underwater survey of wrecks. This course is required for any divers who wish to support the Pennsylvania Ship Survey Team (PASST) in their efforts to document the wrecks in the Pennsylvania waters of Lake Erie. PASST Survey 1 is composed of a classroom session, land (dry) methods & practices, pool (wet) methods & practices and then two open water dives.

PASST Underwater Archaeology - Level 2

This NAUI Certified course is designed to develop PASST dive leaders capable of developing wreck site plans, dive plans and coordinating dives with PASST divers.

Training Assistant

Once you get the bug, you want to help pass it along! This course is designed with the diver in mind who would like to help out at training dives and in the pool. You’ll learn to escort students on the surface and on underwater tours, assist instructors in the pool and at open water dives and you’ll also benefit by enhancing your general diving skills and abilities. Pre-requisites: Advanced, Dive Rescue and current First Aid and CPR (all available through Diver’s World).

Youth Programs

Basic Life Support / FA, CPR & AED

Our NAUI/DAN Basic Life Support (BLS) class includes First Aid, CPR, and AED. BLS is a requirements for Rescue Diver certification.  This course is offered through NAUI/DAN and includes an online learning portion as well as hands on practicum.

Emergency O2 Administration / DAN

This course will teach you the techniques of emergency oxygen administration for suspected diving injuries and nonfatal drowning. You will learn the fundamentals of recognizing dive-injuries along with response and management.

NAUI Divemaster (DM)

Would you like to lead dives and dive trips; take certified divers on vacations to the world’s best dive sites? Many Divemasters are employed full-time or work independently supervising certified divers during club, store, resort or charter tour and travel activities. NAUI Tech

Is technical diving for you? NAUI Technical Courses at Diver’s World are designed for divers whose interests include diving beyond traditional recreational limits and specific areas of technical diving. Accordingly, technical diving courses are designed to provide more detailed training than specialty diver courses and result in more extensive qualifications.
